Celebrate - my 4th anniversary!

Four years ago on May 27th I married an amazing man and he has never stopped amazing me! He is so supportive and takes pride in the cards that I make for him.  I made this card for our anniversary to show him how much he means to me!    Here are pics of the sentiment on the inside:

I used my martha stewart scoring board to score the lines on the card & embossed hearts onto each diamond shape with clear embossing powder.  The sentiments are hand typed.

Happy Hopper's Lilac Bouquet "Thank You" card

Hello all!  I made this A2 thank you card using one of my favorite happy hopper images lilac bouquet.  I am making this card for a card swap on the cricut message board.  I am in two groups and this is my first one of the two images I selected to do.  I have to make this card 5 times (but I am making 6 so I can keep one) and then in exchange I will get 5 different cards back from other cricut message board members.

I colored the image with copics.  Here are the colors that were used-

For the fur:
  • E59 Walnut
  • E57 Light walnut
  • E49 Dark Bark
For the face:
  • E57 Light Walnut
  • E31 Brick Beige

  • 100 Black
For the lilacs:
  • BV29 Slate
  • BV23 Greyish Lavender
  • BV13 Hydrangea Blue
  • BV11 Soft Violet
note:  I also used lavender lace liquid pearls to provide some dimension to the lilacs.

For the leaves:

  • YG67 Moss
  • G99 Olive
The Ground:
  • E35 Chamois
The image is cut at 4" x 3" and mounted on dark purple cardstock measuring 4.25" x 3.25".  The mounted image is then framed on a 5.25" x 4" light purple card stock.  I used purple polka dot ribbon that I purchased at Michael's, Martha Steward eyelet lace punch & eyelet lace corner punch, a purple rhinestone and white gel pen to accent the card.  Thank you is stamped along the bottom of the card in Memento grape jelly ink.

Copic Carazy - or just plain crazy??!!

Copic Ca-razy!!!!

Okay I knew I had a problem when I ordered my first 10 copics and instantly fell in love with these $5.00 markers.  But the craze continues - I just went from 96 markers to 126 in the blink of an eye and I already have a list of the ones that I want to buy next!  I rapidly outgrew my original storage option -

I had to find a new way to store them so I purchased 6 acrylic boxes from Michael's and adhered them together with double sided tape.  With this new method I am able to sort my copics into color families which will make my coloring just that much easier as I will not have to go searching as much for colors.  I hope that this method lasts me awhile - and I love the empty space.  That leaves room for more copics!  Yeah!  This method allows for me to grow my collection by adding more acrylic boxes on the side when (I won't say if) I need too.

The best sites I have found for copics are & oozaks!!  Both have super fast shipping.  If you find a copics anonymous site, please let me know - my husband will thank you!

Repurposed Stickles Storage

Chatting with some ladies on the cricut message board one of the ladies gave me the idea to use an acrylic sign for stickles storage.   Similar to this:

Before I rushed out to the nearest office max, I remembered I had some acrylic picture frames from a previous storage method.  Armed with velcro - I set out to get my bottles & bottles of stickles out of the basket in which they were housed and came up with this.

It is an 8x10 frame and each holds 24 bottles of stickles in their correct direction (upside down) - I have 3 of them which houses all my stickles, alcohol inks and liquid pearls and I can just pull out a tray when I need them instead of digging through a basket.  3 of them in a row on my bookself takes up less than 4" - not bad!  This may work!

Enjoy!  Have a great day!

Congratulations cards

Oh how much fun I had playing with my copics and this super cute image by Mo's Digital Paper - I am so in love with their images and just purchased several more.  They are helping me reach my goal of getting some cards made up in advance to have on hand.  The celebrate stamp is a studio G stamp and I used it two different ways on the cards.  I am trying to get better at making male cards - but often find myself not being able to call a card done with out adding atleast some ribbon.  Now I need someone celebrating something so I can give away these cuties!

Thank you!

I made this card for a friend of mine on the message board.  She is a Tilda fan too and she sent me some stamped images to color - for which I am so grateful!  I have gone even more copic coloring crazy lately.  The paper is stampin' up, the image is ice/ballet princess by magnolia.  I added some ribbone & prima flowers & silver rhinestones.  I colored the Tilda image with copics.  The "thanks" sentiment is stamped on a circle and then covered in glossy accents to make a charm.  It is suspened from the ribbone with purple floss.  Thanks for looking.

Thinking of You!

I am making good on my goal to get some cards made up in advance.  I love making cards suited to each individual, however, it is just my luck that I normally have too much going on when I want to make them and cards can take me anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 days! I normally end up having to make them at the last minute, so having about a dozen cards on hands is my goal this month.    This is one of my favorite Tilda images. I colored her using the techniques taught by Suzanne Dean here with copics.  I have left the inside blank so that I can personalize the card when needed.

Spilled Lemons!

When I saw this image on Mo's digital Pencil I could not wait to color her in!  I used copics and made a joy fold card.  This image got me out of a rut of only making A2 cards - this card is 5x5.5 and will also challenge me to make my on envelope to coordinate.

I left the inside of the card blank so that I may use the card for various occasions!  I think I will add some stickles to her dress and maybe the lemons - I love sparkle and bling.  Thanks for looking.

Sports themed baby shower - today is the day!

Well I thought that this day would never come!  Today is my friend Ahley's baby shower & I am so very excited for her!  She is having a baby boy, whom she has already named Barrett (her maiden name).  I made this 3 - tier diaper cake for the event as well decorated these wooden letters for her to use in Barrett's nursery!  I hope that she enjoys it all!  I had so much fun putting together everything for her!

Happy Birthday Grandma

Yesterday was my Grandmother-in-laws birthday - she just turned 82 years young.  I made this card for her last Thursday before we headed out of town.  My husband came upstairs with this look on his face, and says "so how long does it take you to make a card?".  It normally takes me a while to be inspired and make a card just for that person - this is what I came up with on short notice.
