I have wanted to make one of these cards for a long time. It seemed perfect for this weeks "purple challenge" at If the shoe fits.....scrap it!. I followed a tutorial at splitcoaststampers. The image used is one that I received free online. I colored the image with copics (colors pictured above). I added some recollections rhonestone swirls & ribbon. Cardstock used is by Bazzil.
Welcome to the Sistas Scrap Too! second blog hop! We had so much fun with our first hop that we decided to do a hop once a quarter. This is the hop for the first quarter of 2011 and we are glad you decided to join us! We have 13 designers working on our theme for this hop, which is none other than Valentine's Day. We've put a twist on it, asking the designers to use the colors red, black, and white in their designs. We can't wait to show you what we've come up with! Some of the Sistas went the traditional route and used traditional colors for their projects. What would craftin' be without creativity and diversity?! We know you'll enjoy what lies ahead on the hop route!!
Remember, start at the beginning of the hop and work your way through each blog. Please leave blog love (comments) along the way and become a follower of the blogs so that you can see the beautiful creations year round and not just when we have a hop! There are Sistas who are offering blog candy and you never know where you'll find some so be sure to visit each participating blog. Thank you for joining us for our 2011 SST! Valentine's Day Blog Hop! We hope you enjoy the creativity...
Sweet Little Valentine
I had fun altering prima bottles for my niece's and nephew for Valentine's Day. I have started to become more thrifty in my crafting and using what I have on hand - and right now I have an abundance of empty prima bottles. These jars hold 10 mini Reese's Peanut Butter cups. I added their initial using the Cricut Storybook cartridge. The heart is from the Gypsy images. I used the negative part of the heart as well and love the look.
For my mom I altered a small black tin from Michael's clearance bin - for $.79 (because of a small dent) and added some rose scrapbook paper that I had on hand and an iamroses flower that I glimmer misted & pearls. I filled it with - you guessed it Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (they are all of our favorites).
I will be giving out some blog candy for all that leave comments on this blog post & follow my blog. You have until Monday, February 14 at 12:00 noon EST to participate. A winner will be drawn via random.org and announced in my Tuesday post.
I hope you enjoyed my projects! Here is the list of participating blogs. I've made them clickable to make it easier for you to follow along the hop route. Don't forget to stop by and visit everyone. Leave some blog love and enjoy!
I altered a Prima bottle to fill with Hershey Kisses for my husband for Valentine's Day. I used some card stock that I had in my scraps and added some ribbon, cream Viva Pearl Pen, metal 'love' sentiment and Recollections flowers. I wanted to incorporate the weekly challenge at the Collector's Cut so I added the lips from the Indie cart - I love love love that die cut! I cut it at 2" on my gypsy. I covered them in glossy accents to give them a shine.
My cartridge for next week is Storybook. Check back next Sunday to see what I create with that cartridge.
This month I am super excited to be a guest designer over at If the shoe fits.....scrap it! I have never been asked to do so and I must say it is quite an honor! The sponsor for this month is Sassy Studio Designs and I am simply in love with their digi stamps! I went all pink & girlie using the image bubble bath from their I'm every woman collection.
Hello everyone and thank you so much for visiting me on cuttin' up. I started along this crafting journey in August of 2009 as a way to relax and express myself and it has done that and so much more. I have met so many wonderful people and have unleashed a side of myself that I never knew existed and I must say I love her!
It is amazing how far my talents and knowledge has come since last August and I am so excited to see where my creativity will take me next.
Thanks so much for stopping to visit my blog and hope that you will follow me on this journey.
