Happy Birthday!  When I found this shiny metallic paper at Walmart on clearance I just could not wait to use it cuts like butter in the cricut.  I made 2" ovals using George and basic shapes to make the fanned flower on the left side of the card.  The happy birthday sentiment is cut at 2" using Gypsy Wanderings.  This is another card for the card swap I joined on the cricut message board.

I'm gonna miss you!

It seems like every time I turn around one of my neighbors, friends or co-workers is moving away. I guess that it is the joys of the military life - sure don't miss that! I made up a few cards to have on hand. I love this stamp from Mo's Digital Image - it is a part of a set called terrible two's and her pout is just priceless! I colored the image with copic markers. Sentiment is computer generated and cut & embossed with nestabilities & the cuttlebug. Flower is a teal prima & embellishments are made with ice white pearl pen (I just love those things - a definite staple).

Copic colors used:
Skin - E000, E00, E11 & E25, E13, E11, E21
Outfit - BG09, BG07, BG05, BG02 & YR23, Y26, Y21

Just a quick note strawberry card

I love this image - I received it from a stamped image swap on the cricut message board.  The lady who stamped it - used embossing powder which made the small places in this image easier to color.  I made it into an A2 card to have on hand to send out a quick note or message.  I cut out the image and a shadow using nestabilies labels.  I used the swirl cuttlebug folder to add some dimension to the base.  The image is colored with copic markers.  Thanks for looking!

Fragrant Showers

I had colored this image a few days ago and this is a case where doing it backwards kicked me in the behind as it took me a while to be able to match and coordinate cardstock.  Lesson learned - this is actually one of the largest cards that I have ever made - 8.5" x 5.5" - it is nice having the extra space to spread out embellishments.  I am just not sure that this will be my favorite size - still pretty partial to 6.5" x 5".  I left a sentiment off - still trying to decide what I am going to use the card for.  The image is a house mouse stamp - fragrant showers, image is colored with copics & the paper is stampin' up.  Thanks for looking!

Best wishes wedding cards.....

It all started with these scrap-e words  that I found in my stash from a swap that I was in a few months ago.  My wedding album is done so I decided to play around with them and see if I could come up with a few wedding cards.

Here is my first design using these:

I love the brick look and the fact that all the bricks relate to marriage ties it all together.

The best wishes label was cut using lacy labels at 2"  The bling on the label and ribbon are from a chrome pearl pen - I am so in love with these things!

I have about 160 or so more of these words, so I am going to need some more wedding this summer!

Hello sunshine.......

I am definitely taking advantage of the time that I have off from work!  I was actually able to complete one of the weekly card challenges from the cricut message board.  This is the picture of the layout that was used this week:

This is what I came up with:

I am going to use this card to send to my chemo angel this week, so I got to kill 2 birds with one stone.

Thanks so much for looking!

When life hands you lemons......

When life hands you lemons.....make lemonade!!!

I made this card using my Gypsy!  With my copic craze going on lately my poor G & cricut were feeling neglected - so I dusted them off and put together this bright & cheerful card.

Directions:

Rectangle from George & Basic Shapes Cricut Cartridge measures 6.5" x 8.25"
on the 8.25" side I welded the lemons from Just Because Cards Cricut cartridge
the lemons measure 1.2" wide.  The lemon on the sentiment was cut at 2" wide.  Yellow & frosted
lace stickles give the lemons sparkle.

The sentiment is computer generated.

Gibbs Swap - part 2

Okay so most of you have seen the items that I made for my partner in the GIBBS (girls I'm broke swap) - now I would like to show off some of the items that I received from my partner.....Megan from Above Rubies Studio.  I had an amazing time doing this swap - this is my second round and had so much fun creating for and getting to know Megan.  She took time out of her busy schedule to get to know me and create things just for me.  Here are pics of what I received from her:

All blinged up:  a dressform that she altered & a bracelet that she made - I have already starting using the dressform to hang scraps of ribbon from!  I love the bracelet!

Share and share alike:  She made this box for me which I put up on a shelf in my craft room and filled it with such great items!  I love the pearl pens - one of my new crafting staples & now I have her dvd's which I have watched twice already and each time I pick up something new!  The CD has some great tunes on it too!

Put on your big girl panties and deal with it!
I got the cutest stamp - which should come in handy!  Think I need to post a sign with this at work - ha ha!  She also made the purse with a matching set of cards.

Gibbers do it old tool style:  I received a pair of shaper scissors (a pair that I do not have) and a set of card made with the everyday paper doll cricut cartridge.

Time flies by:  A coaster album to document some of the great times that I have had - I love this one, so much detail!

What was I thinking?? - She put together this amazing layout for 'what I was thinking'.....it coordinated perfectly with my wedding album and I has journaled on it and added it my wedding scrapbook.

Not all that it is cracked up to be....I love this mirror painted in crackle paint and accented with bright colors.

Again, thank you Megan!  I had sooooooo much fun.

Checkbook Cover Challenge

Once a month a wonderful group of ladies get together in Virginia Beach to craft.  I met this bunch on the Cricut message board and have been hooked from day 1.  The lady who organizes the swarm put together a challenge for this months get together and that was to alter a checkbook cover - since I have fallen into the mess of copics I stamped an image that only seemed fitting with a crafter throwing a tantrum when unable to shop!  You can relate right?????  I cannot wait to see what the other ladies have come up with!  Thanks for looking.
